My Passion for Painting

I love Nature and especially the Canadian landscape I am surrounded by.

I walk in it, FEEL it and then paint what I feel. Here are just a few of my favourite moments on canvas.

*Seeing the Light

Acrylic, 36” x 48”

A walk in the forest in Northern Ontario was simply breath taking and I felt touched by the sudden Light that appeared between the trees: definitely a divine moment for me.

This Painting was selected to hang in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in Toronto up until Dec 2021.

As I continue to walk around in the forest, it’s like a magical feeling when the light pushes through the darkness. One feels the stillness and cannot help but feel peaceful.

*Moment In The Forest

Acrylic, 36” x 48”, Muskoka

I spent some time hiking in Muskoka . What I love about this particular spot was seeing the fallen leaves carpeting the earth, old trees, new ones and fresh green ferns — all existing beneath the canopy of tall trees, bathed in places by the glorious sunlight.

*PresenceAcrylic, 24” x 36” Private collection Dr. D. AhmadOften I go in the woods and think it’s so quiet, but when I start to listen - there’s so many sounds, it’s like the place is alive and has a Presence, it’s breathing and bathed in light.

Trees

I love Nature and Trees speak to me. They stand so tall and daunting despite the changing weather, the strong winds & the snow!

Lake

Lakes are something else, they change as the sun shifts in the sky, mirroring the clouds, the blue sky and the dark trees. I love being by these bodies of water.

Paddle Art Auction

Algonquin Outfitters held a Paddle Art Auction in August 2019 to raise funds for the Arts.

I contributed a paddle which, I am happy to report, came in the top 8 in bids from 184 paddles submitted! Below is the Paddle I painted called ‘Soul Journey’, it had two very different sides to it…the first is the river journey and the other side is a spiritual journey with Mandalas…the paddle helps you traverse both!
